150 days to CAT!!
Hello everyone, now only 150 days are left for CAT 2022 and it is my urge to all aspirants to get serious. First, I will again share with you the crisp of the 2021 CAT. which consisted of 66 questions and a two-hour format exam. Like every time, there were three slots. You should not worry about your slots as I will guide you with only the required information for each slot. The difficulty level is somewhat similar for Slot 1 and Slot 2, and you might get an idea about the pattern of examination for Slot 3.
I will go through the whole plan which I made for your 150-day CAT journey. Firstly, this is for only serious aspirants and it is for the period of July to May. To begin with, let's know the CAT syllabus. Three sections are there in CAT, which are VARC (Verbal ability and Reading Comprehension). It covers questions from Para Summary, Para Jumbles, and out of context questions. Another section is of DILR (Data interpretation and logical reasoning). It covers questions on bar graphs, seating arrangements, directions and puzzles. The last section is of quantitative aptitude, which is 10th and 12th grade mathematics and compiled from arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and modern math topics.

Now I will tell you about the question paper’s pattern. In 2021 there were 66 questions with a 2-hour time limit, and in 2020 there were 76 questions with a 3-hour time limit. If we go section wise for the 2-hour format, according to me, there are approximately 8 questions in VARC with no negative marking, and those who are weak in verbal can try these and DILR have 10 questions each. And in Quants, the majority of questions come from arithmetic. You can expect around 40%-50% arithmetic and 20%-25% algebra, 15% geometry, 5% number system, and the rest modern math. All these are my estimations based on past CAT quants section analysis. Also, it’s my humble request to all aspirants that don’t focus much or more than a week on number systems. According to the news, by August 31st the exact paper pattern might be announced.
I would like to ask for a pledge from all my aspirants reading this post. Don’t leave prep before August 15 and another milestone is October 15th. Here you would start seeing some numbers in CAT Mocks. A special note for my category aspirants: kindly work hard equally and aim for the best scores only.

Let's move now to planning our schedule. So, we give 8 hours to sleep, then 8 hours to college or office work, then we are left with 8 hours and out of that only 3 hours a day is 450 hours (150 days * 3). If you give me your 450 hours till the end of the day, "you are surely going to succeed" and plus 25 mocks, which is 50 hours (25*2), and that goes to 500 hours. If you consistently work hard for these 500 words, no one can stop you from achieving your target.
Moving forward I will now break our bigger goals into shorter dreams, divide them into three 40-day challenges and leave the rest of 30 days for revision and corrections. I will now tell you how the toppers did it, three steps only. Reiteration, weekly mocks, weekly revision, and that on weekends. Students beginning now can appear for mocks after 40 days, and IIT and NIT repeaters can appear for the CAT 2021 paper. I will soon share the link and it will have a complete analysis by FMS Alumni.
Now I will give you your target CAT scores. At first try to get 13 questions right, which makes it to approximately 75 percentile, then move to 80 percentile by making 15 questions correct and on this percentile you might get Welingkar and IMT Ghaziabad calls too, and in the reserved category here you might have good IIM calls in hand. As of now, focus on short targets. Then go for bigger targets. 20 questions correctly gets you 90 percentile and with only 24 questions you get 95 percentile approximately. And yes, for 99.5 percentile, getting 36 questions is hitting the bull’s eye.
Start giving mocks after completing your first 40-day challenge. See where you stand. Do not distract yourself with mock scores because the marks in the beginning will not be good. CAT repeaters can directly provide 2021 CAT paper. Soon the link will be provided.
Target Score!!
With this score, you can get a call from IMT Ghaziabad. 17 correct CAT questions equals 85 percentile in CAT. Then go for bigger targets. 20 questions correct gets you 90 percentile and only 24 questions correct gets you 95 percentiles approximately and yes, for 99.5 percentile, get 36 questions correct. You have nailed it then.
In CAT, 21 correct answers equals 90 percentile (7 correct answers in each question). Aim high; try solving 36 questions correctly for 99.5 percentile in CAT.

Toppers Strategies
The very first thing which Toppers say is CONSISTENCY, REITERATION (Do solve the topics again and again to get the idea of different types of questions), ONE SECTION APPROACH (Pick one topic from each section and take it to the moon; make that topic your strength); KILL YOUR WEAKNESS (Do what is tough and attack your weakness) Try to give mocks on Saturday and do the analysis of the same mock on Sunday to see where you are standing. See your weak points and focus on the same. Watch the CAT mock analysis video on the Caking dashboard.
Start manifesting on what you want to do and become focused. I advise you to take a printout of your dream college and stick it on your wall, and then try to learn everything about that college. Then for 150 days, avoid Netflix and other OTT platforms. Instead, solve questions and give mocks. You can also go through the dashboard OP, which is like an ocean for you guys with immense study material.
