Can average students get into FMS?

This article is for those students who want to get into FMS College. We are going to discuss the selection criteria, strategy, and profile to get into the FMS. The very first thing to discuss is the complete journey to cracking FMS.FMS is in Delhi, also known as "The Red Brick", as the infrastructure of the college is made with red bricks. The fees for a two-year MBA programme are around 2 lakhs, while the average pay for an internship is around 2.62 lakhs, and the highest stipend for an internship is around 5 lakhs. And the average placement from the same college has gone up to 58 lakhs, and the average placement is 32 lakhs approx.Average student with 60% graduation, 77 in class 10th, 66 in class 12th, or anyone with gap years and graduation backlogs. Can these students get into the FMS? and the answer is yes. We cannot deny that the profile is important, but CAT scores are required to get into a good B-School. The percentile required to get into the FMS is 99+. You have to score 99+ percentile in the CAT and have to be more focused on VARC as the weightage of VARC is quite higher in the FMS . If your English is not good enough, then please focus on your English learning skills. The conclusion so far is that students who want to get into FMS should focus more on the VARC section. In the first level of interviews, your 10th and 12th marks are not counted. FMS gives 2000 calls every year, from which 300 people are selected. Graduation marks are not focused too much on the selection. The very first thing is that no student is an average student. If you have a bad profile, be more focused on CAT. Have faith in yourself. Start your preparation with reading. Read as much as you can because reading will help you improve your vocabulary and make you good at VARC. Students must be more focused on their strengths; see in which section you are strong and stay focused to make that better. Do not be afraid of your weaknesses, so keep improving them. 25% of your CAT is made up of RCs, so focus on RCs too.You must regularly give the mocks as they not only tell you about your scores but also which sections you are weak in and on which topics you must be more focused. CATKing provides you with the actual CAT mock along with the analysis of the mocks, where someone from IIM will solve that complete mock with you. They will give the strategy of how to give the exam. Give at least one mock every week.Strategy for the Next 4 MonthsYou have 120 days left from the CAT exam, which is really enough for the CAT preparation. At the start of 1 month, you have to study 2 hours daily , where you have to attend the live lectures and also study the study materials provided to you by CATKing. So start solving the LOD 1 and LOD 2 CATKing Bibles and give the sectional mocks regularly. Then in the month of October, you have to study for 4 hours, and for the month of November, study at least 5 hours . Do solve the old CAT papers regularly. So, this is all about cracking CAT and getting into the FMS. Stay positive and work hard.

CAT PREPARATION 2023

Hello everyone!!! This is a post for students who want to take the CAT exam next year and want to start studying early to gain a competitive advantage. Today we are going to discuss the strategies of how and when to start for CAT 2023. So, the very first piece of advice from our side is to make this exam your priority. Set your goal and prepare with the dedication, hard work, and aim that you will be going to the top colleges. So, the journey of your preparation will start from the "MUST DO THINGS," which includes reading comprehension. If you want to do something good in your life, then start reading English, which includes your reading comprehension, novels, and articles. In today’s era, if you want to work globally and want to make global connections, then you must be strong in English. After English, the second and most important thing is aptitude. Nowadays, many companies will take your aptitude test as a test for knowledge and logic.  College students must begin preparing for the CAT exam in their second-to-last year of college, which states that you are eligible for the CAT exam when you are in your final year, but you must begin preparing for it in your second-to-last year. Begin raising your graduation scores above 7. Focus on your profile building as this is a must for cracking the TOP Collages. Participate in internships and be a part of any department or group at your college. Start working in NGOs, which will upgrade your profile. Make a habit of reading as much as you can. Start reading the newspaper, read the business news, sports news, etc. Before going to sleep, you must read for 30 minutes. Do the certification courses. The CAT exam syllabus last year had 66 total questions, which included 24 from the VARC section, 20 from the DI-LR section, and the rest, 22 from the Quant’s section. To score 99%ile in CAT, you only need to bring 50% marks, whereas for 90%ile, you only need to bring 33% marks. To know the total cost of your MBA entrance exam, here is the link for all the exams, including non-CAT exams: https://catking.testpress.in/p...    For your preparation, you have 2 options. First, you can go with self-study, where you can go with Arun Sharma Books for CAT, and there are many such books which are available on the market. Or you can also join any of the coaching which will give you the correct guidance and many tricks that are going to help in your exam. The CAT exam comes in 3 sections, which are Quants, which include Numbers, Arithmetic, Geometric, Algebra, and Modern Math; the second is Verbal Ability, which includes Reading Comprehension, Para Jumbles, and Para Summary; and the last is DI-LR, which includes Types or Graphical Questions and Logical Questions. Study plan for those taking the CAT in 2023: You have almost 1.5 years to create a study plan, which you must strictly adhere to.Now come to FMS College, whose college fees are approx. 2 lakhs. The average package for this college is Rs. 30 lakhs. So please do not lose your dedication, keep on doing hard work and crack CAT! For starting the CAT preparation from now, there is a sufficient time period for you. For students who are already enrolled in CATKing, there is a full strategic dashboard for you where you are getting a complete structured course for you, where you are getting daily live classes which you have to take regularly, and then you are getting all the concept builder videos which cover all the topics from all the sections which come in CAT. With this, you are getting CATKing Bibles, which are specially designed according to level of difficulty. You are also getting access to section-wise test series and actual CAT Mocks. In the CATKing Dashboard, you can access other exams such as NMAT, CET, SNAP, and others, where you can give mock exams designed for the various exams. What you must do is just attend all the daily live classes. After attending the live classes, we recommend you watch the concept builder videos, which will clear all your doubts, and after that, start solving the LOD 1 CATKing E-Book and finish all the LOD 1 and LOD 2 CATKing Bibles. The 40-day challenge is ideal for you because you can complete it 2-3 times to clear all your doubts, and then return to LOD 2 to continue practicing. You only have to give 1 hour daily to the CATKing and 1 hour for self-study. That will be enough for the preparation to target the 2023 CAT. To know more about the preparation strategy, this video will be helpful to you:

MBA Exams to Apply?

Hi Aspirants,This blog is to inform you of all the entrance exams you must take. Your journey to your exams will start in October. The very first exam thatyou have to give is not CAT. The first exam is NMAT, do the preparation intensive, which not only covers the CAT but all the other exams like SNAP, NMAT, XAT, IIFT, etc. A small suggestion: please do not save money on education. NMAT is the exam that is going to be held in October. There are only 2.5 months left until the NMAT exam. This year, approximately 191 CATKing students were sitting in Narsee Monjee, please do listen to Anisha Mam, your NMAT guide for the exam. She will provide you with all the resources, and timetable according to the batch. The cost is 2300 per attempt for NMAT and there are 3 attempts. Our suggestion is to give at least 2 exams, as NMAT is the adaptive exam. If the student is weak, the questions in the exams will be based on your knowledge. The questions will go accordingly. You can easily score 200 on the NMAT exam. There are many more colleges that take the same exams. After the NMAT exam in November, you will be giving the CAT exam. November 27 is the date for your CAT exam. It is the most standard exam and in 2022, the exam setter for CAT will be IIM Bangalore. The number of questions is dependent upon time. If the exam isFor 2 hours, the number of questions is approximately 66, while if the time is extended to 3 hours, there will be 100 questions including all the 3 sections. The range is between 66 and 100 questions. The cost of this exam is 2200 rupees for general and SC-ST. The price is 1100 only.In December, on December 4, there will be another exam, which is the IIFT. The IIFT exams include GK questions. The cost for this exam is :The general fee is Rs. 2500, and the SC/ST fee is Rs. 1,000. After this exam on December 10, the exam name is MICA. MICA is a good college for marketing. The cost for this exam is 2100 and there is less weightage than CAT. The average package of this college is 19 lakhs. There are 54% who are non-engineers in the college. On December 18, you will be giving the SNAP 1 exam. One has 60 minutes and must attempt 60 questions. The cost for this exam is 1950 where you can give the same exam 2 times. Then it comes to January; on January 6, you are going to give the XAT exam. This exam costs 1800, and it is a difficult exam.It includes a new section, which is decision-making. Approximately 40 students from CATKing are currently sitting in XLRI. Following this exam on January 8th, is SNAP 2, and SNAP 3 is on January 15. After the SNAP exam comes the MICAT, and the cost of this exam is 2100. The TISSNET exam is around mid-January, which is slightly easier as compared to others. This exam also comes with a GK section. Now it comes to February, in which there is no exam, but you will be getting calls to form different collages for your GDPI based on your score. On March 26, there will be an exam which is CMAT, which is also a slightly easy exam, and GK will also come in the same exam. There were 4 sections, 25 per question. SRCC is the exam that is going to be held in March. The cost of this exam is 2500 for general and Rs. 1500 is for SC ST. At the end of March, you will be giving CET, whose cost is Rs. 1000 for general. For the GK section, you must read the TOI, a newspaper, which covers all the current affairs and business news, which is not that hard.

Can I get an IIM in 5 months?

Can I get an IIM in 5 months? Can I crack CAT if I start preparing in July?  The answer is YES. Anyone can crack the CAT in 1.5 years, 1 year, 6 months, 5 months, or even 2 months, depending on how much effort you put into your preparation, how dedicated you are, and how consistent you are. Anyone can also crack the CAT in months. Simply set your goal of attending an IIM or a large B-school and begin preparing for it. Some of them have already cracked in 2 months. Some of them are those who have already given CAT earlier, some who are going into Quants, some who have already prepared for exams like JEE, etc. Cracking CAT means getting into an IIM; you can achieve the 90%ile in CAT in just two months.90%ile in CAT results in only 33% marks in CAT. You will be given 40 minutes to solve a section where approximately 8 correct questions are in it. It is almost equal to 5 minutes per question. A person who knows the overview of the syllabus of CAT and can find the easy questions for him can crack the CAT in 2 months. In which 90%ile you can crack Baby IIMs very easily, and Baby IIMs are also very good. So the best advice is to think less and just put more effort into the preparation of CAT. Start your journey of preparation; take an overview of the syllabus, and keep taking tests of yourself to see where you are standing and what your preparation is by giving the mocks, taking the tests of yourself, or if you are a CATking student, taking daily live classes. After taking classes, watch the concept builder videos, which are on the dashboard. They will clear your doubts and give you all the concepts. After that, all that you have to do is go into the CATking E-Book Bibles, start with LOD 1, and finish one by one. After you've completed LOD 1, move on to LOD 2 Bibles. And if you are not a part of the CATking, you can go with any CAT book and make a strict timetable for yourself and start preparing. Do give the king a call. Real CAT Mock to see where you stand or how well prepared you are; identify and work to strengthen your weak points. In the beginning, you will not get a good score in the mocks, so do not lose your confidence and keep preparing for the CAT. One more thing to add after giving the CAT is that if you can solve the easy 4-5 questions, then your CAT has gone amazing. Before the CAT, if you could solve the complete 2 hours in 3 hours, that would be amazing.Keep on doing your preparation with full dedication. You are all the family of CATking. The complete CATking family is always with you in support. Crack the CAT. Life is going to be amazing after entering the Dream B-School.All the Best!!!

The CAT exam is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). CAT scores are used to get admission in various management institutes across the country. The test is based on quantitative ability, verbal ability, reading comprehension, data interpretation, and logical reasoning. In August 2011, it was announced that IITs and IISc would also use the CAT exam scores to select students for their management programmes, starting with the 2012–14 batch instead of the Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET). This exam is the gateway for admission to all Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and various B-schools located across the country. December:-After the CAT exam in November comes SNAP, NMAT-2, IIFT, and MICA. SNAP's full form is the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test. It is the common admission test for pursuing an MBA at all the 16 Symbiosis B-schools in India. The difficulty level of this test is easy to moderate. It is a computer-based test. It is usually conducted in the month of December every year. Approximately 1 lakh candidates appear for this exam from all over India.  IIFT holds a glorious reputation for professionalising India’s international trade management. IIFT also allows admissions of foreign/NRI/PIO candidates on the basis of their GMAT score. The programmes offered by the Institute are diverse and prepare students for international business. The programmes are: Two-year MBA-International Business at Delhi and Kolkata campuses Three-year Part-Time MBA-International Business in New Delhi and Kolkata Masters in International Business, New Delhi Program in Export Management, New Delhi January:-Exams like XAT, TISS, and MICAT will be held in the month of January. XAT is one of the largest entrance exams for taking admission to top MBA institutes like XLRI, IMT, XIMB, TAPMI, SPJIMR, etc. The full form of XAT is the Xavier Aptitude Test. The exam is conducted once a year and is conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur. Candidates from all fields, including humanities, science, engineering, commerce, and law, can apply for the XAT exam and gain admission to the MBA/PGDM programme at XLRI (Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur).Apart from XLRI, some other MBA institutes like IMT Ghaziabad, XIMB Bhubaneswar, and TAPMI Manipal, etc., also accept the XAT exam, which is specially established to provide admission to postgraduate management programmes in top-tier B-schools. Every year, TISS conducts a national-level exam called TISSNET, which paves the way to M.A. programmes at the institute. These programmes are considered equivalent to management programmes (MBA/PGDM) offered by the reputed B-schools of India. Besides the M.A. courses, TISSNET scores are required for admission to courses like M.H.A, M.P.H., M.Sc., B.Ed-M.Ed, and other programmes offered by the institute. TISSNET is held in computer-based mode at 100+ test centres across various cities in India. Around 40,000 candidates appear for the exam annually. The difficulty level of TISSNET is comparable to that of NMAT, CMAT, and similar entrance tests. MICAT is an MBA entrance exam conducted by MICA, Ahmedabad for admissions into their two-year Post Graduate Diploma (PGDM) or Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communications (PGDM-C) program. The exam is conducted every year in two slots, one in December and one in February, through an online mode. Phase I registration will usually start in September. 150 Days to CAT exam | Preparation Strategy | CAT videos | CAT preparation in 5 months

150 days to CAT!!Hello everyone, now only 150 days are left for CAT 2022 and it is my urge to all aspirants to get serious. First, I will again share with you the crisp of the 2021 CAT. which consisted of 66 questions and a two-hour format exam. Like every time, there were three slots. You should not worry about your slots as I will guide you with only the required information for each slot. The difficulty level is somewhat similar for Slot 1 and Slot 2, and you might get an idea about the pattern of examination for Slot 3.I will go through the whole plan which I made for your 150-day CAT journey. Firstly, this is for only serious aspirants and it is for the period of July to May. To begin with, let's know the CAT syllabus. Three sections are there in CAT, which are VARC (Verbal ability and Reading Comprehension). It covers questions from Para Summary, Para Jumbles, and out of context questions. Another section is of DILR (Data interpretation and logical reasoning). It covers questions on bar graphs, seating arrangements, directions and puzzles. The last section is of quantitative aptitude, which is 10th and 12th grade mathematics and compiled from arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and modern math topics. Now I will tell you about the question paper’s pattern. In 2021 there were 66 questions with a 2-hour time limit, and in 2020 there were 76 questions with a 3-hour time limit. If we go section wise for the 2-hour format, according to me, there are approximately 8 questions in VARC with no negative marking, and those who are weak in verbal can try these and DILR have 10 questions each. And in Quants, the majority of questions come from arithmetic. You can expect around 40%-50% arithmetic and 20%-25% algebra, 15% geometry, 5% number system, and the rest modern math. All these are my estimations based on past CAT quants section analysis. Also, it’s my humble request to all aspirants that don’t focus much or more than a week on number systems. According to the news, by August 31st the exact paper pattern might be announced.I would like to ask for a pledge from all my aspirants reading this post. Don’t leave prep before August 15 and another milestone is October 15th. Here you would start seeing some numbers in CAT Mocks. A special note for my category aspirants: kindly work hard equally and aim for the best scores only. Let's move now to planning our schedule. So, we give 8 hours to sleep, then 8 hours to college or office work, then we are left with 8 hours and out of that only 3 hours a day is 450 hours (150 days * 3). If you give me your 450 hours till the end of the day, "you are surely going to succeed" and plus 25 mocks, which is 50 hours (25*2), and that goes to 500 hours. If you consistently work hard for these 500 words, no one can stop you from achieving your target.Moving forward I will now break our bigger goals into shorter dreams, divide them into three 40-day challenges and leave the rest of 30 days for revision and corrections. I will now tell you how the toppers did it, three steps only. Reiteration, weekly mocks, weekly revision, and that on weekends. Students beginning now can appear for mocks after 40 days, and IIT and NIT repeaters can appear for the CAT 2021 paper. I will soon share the link and it will have a complete analysis by FMS Alumni. Now I will give you your target CAT scores. At first try to get 13 questions right, which makes it to approximately 75 percentile, then move to 80 percentile by making 15 questions correct and on this percentile you might get Welingkar and IMT Ghaziabad calls too, and in the reserved category here you might have good IIM calls in hand. As of now, focus on short targets. Then go for bigger targets. 20 questions correctly gets you 90 percentile and with only 24 questions you get 95 percentile approximately. And yes, for 99.5 percentile, getting 36 questions is hitting the bull’s eye.Start giving mocks after completing your first 40-day challenge. See where you stand. Do not distract yourself with mock scores because the marks in the beginning will not be good. CAT repeaters can directly provide 2021 CAT paper. Soon the link will be provided.Target Score!!With this score, you can get a call from IMT Ghaziabad. 17 correct CAT questions equals 85 percentile in CAT. Then go for bigger targets. 20 questions correct gets you 90 percentile and only 24 questions correct gets you 95 percentiles approximately and yes, for 99.5 percentile, get 36 questions correct. You have nailed it then.In CAT, 21 correct answers equals 90 percentile (7 correct answers in each question). Aim high; try solving 36 questions correctly for 99.5 percentile in CAT. Toppers StrategiesThe very first thing which Toppers say is CONSISTENCY, REITERATION (Do solve the topics again and again to get the idea of different types of questions), ONE SECTION APPROACH (Pick one topic from each section and take it to the moon; make that topic your strength); KILL YOUR WEAKNESS (Do what is tough and attack your weakness) Try to give mocks on Saturday and do the analysis of the same mock on Sunday to see where you are standing.
