Verma and/or Arun Sharma. If too early in CAT preparation - Do NCERT to strengthen your foundation. Things to keep in mind- •Keep all your books handy beforehand so that after the prep starts, you don't have to look for books and/or study material •Planning from May to November (7 months) April, May, June -1-2 hours of study. CATKing has classes for only 45 minutes, so 1-hour in-class plus 1 hour of study at homeJuly, Mid August – 3-hours of studyRest of August, September, October, and November -more than 5 hours of study are required. Study as much as you can and push yourself. Mocks and Analysis- An average student gives more than 20 mocks, so focus on completing and analyzing more than 20 mocks for a good score.CATKing family students try to give around 30 mocks of CATKing themselves provides. Two lakh cat aspirants and not more than 20000 would be there who would have given 20 mocks.Analysis and see how a good percentile scorer solves the mock and selects the questions in that time frame is of utmost importance, so Catking will also organize these sessions with an FMS student. Are 7 months enough for CAT?

Are 7 months enough for CAT Set your goal and strive for it. Decide which college you have to go. No, collect your resources quickly. Do not keep it pending. By May, give a mock compulsory, preferably CAT actual paper. Give a mock after minimum 1- 1.5 months of preparation (40 days’ challenge), as you will know where you stand. In a week, assign days for each section as a routine as to what to study on which day. Your objective should be to make 1 section excellent i.e. 99.99 %ile in 1 section. RC for starters, start with Aeon Ideas, then Aeon Essays and then Aeon Psyche. This is a game changer but only if you read 45mins daily mindfully. After this, read Smithsonian, Guardian, Aldaily, NY times, The Atlantic. These are resources from which CAT paper is set. Apart from the exams perspective, reading daily will enhance your personality manifolds. For QA, there will be 22 questions coming from QA in which 10-11 questions will be from Arithmetic. If you are a noob in this section, then have a scavenger mindset in which you just have to focus on easy question and kill them. While preparing, do not leave any topic. Prepare more or focus more on difficult topics. In DILR, here first make out what are you good at, DI or LR? If your DI is not good, then switch to LR and vice versa. Similarly, if you are not good at QA, then switch to VARC and vice versa. Balance things out for overall performance optimization. Timetable for CAT On a daily basis, cover topic from two sections atleast, example Monday Tuesday Wednesday Quantitative Ability Data Interpretation Verbal Ability Data Interpretation Verbal Ability Quantitative Ability   Here, in 3 days, you are covering everything atleast twice. You need to do this on weekdays repeatedly and then on weekends, Revise everything, Consolidate and give a mock. Give a mock on Saturday preferably then analyze the same on Sunday. Work-ex individuals are recommended to study 1 hour before going to office and 1 hour after coming from office daily. Freshers have plenty of time to study. They must target solving atleast 20 questions each day. MBA –CET Preparation strategy for 2 months

MBA –CET Preparation strategy for 2 months Anyone can crack CET- Your preparation should be in aligned with your goals. Target JBIMS, turn the world upside down. The elite has gone out from the game so competition is less. Said to be the last exam of the season, majority of the students are already tired but not you. You are still alive, prove it this time. Take a break, have some fresh air and then sit for the unstoppable rigorous preparation and mock attempts. Why CET? There is numerous reason to consider this exam in the game as it has its own importance. Fees is low. Scholarships available. JBIMS- This college is a lottery though CET. Lying under cut off of 99.98 %ile, the easiest among all CET makes it possible to score well here. There are several other perks of this college. The foremost lies the selection criteria of this college- known to be the CEO factor of the country, this college demands only the cut off 99.98%ile and you are god to go to enrol into this prestigious college. After this, there very less fees approx. 6lacs with great ROI, there is no negative marking, no GDPI, no profile asked and scholarships are available of course. All you need to do is kill the CET exam paper. That’s all! 7 mistakes to avoid that every CAT taker does

CAT preparation from May 7 mistakes to avoid that every CAT taker does- Missing VPAR. As CAT exam is a speed based exam, this topic comes under your foundation for QA and getting well versed with your basics will speed up your calculation. Do not mix anything with Arithmetic. It is the most important topic for QA as it consists of 50% of the paper so practise enough of it. Try to finish 1 topic every week. Not focusing on Data Interpretation. DI consists of 20questions from the paper so dedicate 1 full week to solve DI questions only. In this, it is recommended to give final attention to the tough topics like Games & Tournaments. According to paper pattern, 4 sets of 5 questions each will be asked in which 1 set always comes easy, you need to identify that set and kill it. 1 correct set in DI will fetch you 80 %ile. Not focusing enough on VARC. Many elite b-schools like FMS gives 40% weightage on VARC, hence, many toppers miss their chance in these b-schools just because of VARC section in CAT. This section I a boon for the non-engineers as they can only beat the engineers through this section. We recommend to take up our 40days challenge and practise 5 RC, Para Jumbles, Para Summaries daily for better grip. Apart from this learn atleast 10-15 words for vocabulary enhancement. Students overwhelm themselves with syllabus. Instead plan in iterations. Your initial target for now should only to solve easy questions. Gradually, up your game with patience. Not challenging yourself. Students tend to spend weeks on 1 topic only. You need to plan each topic according to their weightage in the paper i.e. frequency of occurrence, level of difficulty etc. for proper optimization in your performance. This will not come unless you challenge yourself. We recommend once you are done with your 1st 40 Days challenge through CATKing, then sit with IIT/NIT students batch and study with stud students as they will teach better and efficient ways to solve the same questions. You will see yourself getting better. Not using Dashboard. For the best results, you need to be thorough with the dashboard provided to you by CATKing. Set a target to attend all the previous live lectures and finish it up till June/July. Start with LOD1 recorded lectures, shortcut videos then move to LOD2 of the same till LOD3. B-school Discussions

Must do things before joining a B-school

Must do things before joining a B-school: - First of all, congratulations on your convert colleges! You have successfully aced the first phase of entering your MBA journey, you should celebrate for sure but not rest for the journey has just begun and you have many milestones to achieve to finally make it to the best placements. Keep in mind your why to do an MBA. You are the customer of your MBA college, be sell-able. They want a professional who is well-rounded enough to study at their institute, perform well and be easy to be placed (hence, they give a huge emphasis on work and character). Meanwhile, before joining your MBA college, utilize your time in doing killer internships and grab as much certifications as possible. In order to be sell-able you might want to found these things in your personality: Your Professional USP-  you need to discover what you are good at if you don’t know it still in the 2 months that you have got before your college commences. Sit with your talent and make business out of it, build it that way and then take it to the moon. Extra-curricular activities are not your USPs, they are your talents and this is the best time to take them to another level too, along with your professional USP. Why did you build up the hobby that you have? This question needs a clear answer, it says a lot about one’s personality traits hence, common question any panel could ask you so build a story regarding how you landed up with your hobby, tell them your why. Tell them your niche. Why is your hobby important to you? What have you done to achieve your goals, pursue your interests. Highlight yourself. Here we don’t mean to brag about yourself because it shows a big red flag, what we mean is tell them about your depth of knowledge, your instincts and your inherent passion. Back all of this with relevant examples from your real life experiences that led into enlightening yourself about the attributes that you possess. Have a USP crowd around you. Write down your skills that you have on a piece of paper, work on them in relation to these two categories. Category 1- Your inner crowd. This will have all the private level of attributes that you have as a person e.g. empathy, leadership, amiability etc. Category 2- Your outer crowd. This possesses every professional trait that you have e.g. tech skills, professional skills, communication skills, customer centricity etc. Dream companies. Decide your top 4 companies and see are you aligned according to your company demands based upon your present inner and outer skills. Reach out to the HR of those companies and ask for mentorship, ask what skills they are looking for in professionals. Always remember, you are doing MBA to hone your USP and the traits you have, it’s a professional degree. Hope this helps! Happy Learning! The latest way is to prepare online. In CATKing, you are given organized modules. Preferably start with LOD 1 & 2 in the dashboard. If you have started now, know that you have 6-7months of time left so the Ball Park Estimate wise, start studying online for minimum 2hrs each day and then increase gradually (2hrs classes, 2hrs self-study). In July/September/August- study between 4-12hrs as now the toppers come into the race functionally. You are competing with the toppers. Give Mocks, give them while studying. A good student will take 20mocks minimum, a better one will take 30mocks and a topper will take 60mocks. You also need to analyze them too. Spend atleast 3-4 hours analyzing each mock. Make a routine to take a mock on Saturday and spend Sunday analyzing it. In CATKing you get special classes of analyzing them with CAT previous year toppers. Being well versed with Quants pacifies your knowledge and preparation. It is helpful anyway as the in job scenario too, the 1st round of interview is going to be aptitude in all companies. To fall in love with Quants, you need to spend time with VPAR for atleast 2weeks followed by Arithmetic as Arithmetic consists 50% of the paper. Verbal Ability- It is suggested if you are not comfortable with Quants then immediately switch to VARC. Every topper in VARC is well- read so you have to read a lot. Not just this, it accentuates your personality for which your spoken English has to be good. Start with Norman Lewis Word Power Made Easy. After this, read books apart from reading newspapers for atleast 45mins and try to Catch all the vocabulary, then move to Times of India, Hindu etc. You need to do this for month for good grip on it. Secret sauce for CAT VARC- Read Aeon Ideas for 1 month. Then move to Aeon Essays for 1 month and then move to Aeon Psyche for another 1 month.
