MBA Exam Schedule!!
Hello everyone. Here we are going to discuss the CAT exams, which are going to be held before and after the CAT.
October: NMAT is the exam which is for Narsee Monjee, the only exam which is going to be held before CAT. The first attempt for this exam has to be given before the exam, and the rest can be given after the CAT.
NMAT 2021 is an online computer-based exam that helps aspirants to choose one of the best B-schools not only in India but in countries like South Africa, the Philippines, and Nigeria as well. Previously known as NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test), it is currently conducted by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) and hence known as NMAT by GMAC. The students can target colleges like NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies), XUB, SPJIMR (for PGMPW), etc. NMAT gives you three attempts between October and December in one exam cycle per year. So, an aspirant can apply three times for NMAT by GMAC with a minimum of a 15-day gap between two consecutive attempts to get admission to an MBA or other graduate management degrees from the above-mentioned prominent B-schools. NMAT 2022 scores are valid for one academic session. The NMAT application form can be found at https://www.nmat.org.
November: In the month of November, CAT is going to be held on the 27th of November.
The Common Admission Test, or CAT exam, is a national-level management entrance examination held in India. The CAT exam is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). CAT scores are used to get admission in various management institutes across the country. The test is based on quantitative ability, verbal ability, reading comprehension, data interpretation, and logical reasoning. In August 2011, it was announced that IITs and IISc would also use the CAT exam scores to select students for their management programmes, starting with the 2012–14 batch instead of the Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET). This exam is the gateway for admission to all Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and various B-schools located across the country.
December:-After the CAT exam in November comes SNAP, NMAT-2, IIFT, and MICA.
SNAP's full form is the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test. It is the common admission test for pursuing an MBA at all the 16 Symbiosis B-schools in India. The difficulty level of this test is easy to moderate. It is a computer-based test. It is usually conducted in the month of December every year. Approximately 1 lakh candidates appear for this exam from all over India.
IIFT holds a glorious reputation for professionalising India’s international trade management. IIFT also allows admissions of foreign/NRI/PIO candidates on the basis of their GMAT score. The programmes offered by the Institute are diverse and prepare students for international business. The programmes are:
Two-year MBA-International Business at Delhi and Kolkata campuses
Three-year Part-Time MBA-International Business in New Delhi and Kolkata
Masters in International Business, New Delhi
Program in Export Management, New Delhi
January:-Exams like XAT, TISS, and MICAT will be held in the month of January.
XAT is one of the largest entrance exams for taking admission to top MBA institutes like XLRI, IMT, XIMB, TAPMI, SPJIMR, etc. The full form of XAT is the Xavier Aptitude Test. The exam is conducted once a year and is conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur. Candidates from all fields, including humanities, science, engineering, commerce, and law, can apply for the XAT exam and gain admission to the MBA/PGDM programme at XLRI (Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur).Apart from XLRI, some other MBA institutes like IMT Ghaziabad, XIMB Bhubaneswar, and TAPMI Manipal, etc., also accept the XAT exam, which is specially established to provide admission to postgraduate management programmes in top-tier B-schools.
Every year, TISS conducts a national-level exam called TISSNET, which paves the way to M.A. programmes at the institute. These programmes are considered equivalent to management programmes (MBA/PGDM) offered by the reputed B-schools of India. Besides the M.A. courses, TISSNET scores are required for admission to courses like M.H.A, M.P.H., M.Sc., B.Ed-M.Ed, and other programmes offered by the institute. TISSNET is held in computer-based mode at 100+ test centres across various cities in India. Around 40,000 candidates appear for the exam annually. The difficulty level of TISSNET is comparable to that of NMAT, CMAT, and similar entrance tests.
MICAT is an MBA entrance exam conducted by MICA, Ahmedabad for admissions into their two-year Post Graduate Diploma (PGDM) or Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communications (PGDM-C) program. The exam is conducted every year in two slots, one in December and one in February, through an online mode. Phase I registration will usually start in September. There are around 140-150 questions in MICAT with a duration of 165 minutes.
CMAT is the exam that is going to be held in the month of February.
The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a National Level Entrance Examination for Admission to Management Programmes in the country. This test enables AICTE-affiliated or participating institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission to management programmes at such institutions. Till 2018, the test was conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). NTA has been conducting this test since 2019. The CMAT-2021 will be conducted by the NTA. The CMAT is a three-hour computer-based online test that is conducted to evaluate the candidates' abilities across various segments like quantitative techniques and data interpretation, logical reasoning, language comprehension, and general awareness. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/Universities/Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.
Focus more and more on the CAT exam as the syllabus of other exams is majorly the same. In other exams, there are GK questions from different fields, which is quite tough. Begin preparing for the CAT!!
